Product Overview
- Structural automotive brackets in 17-4PH precipitation-hardening stainless
- Investment cast for complex shapes, CNC machined for mounting accuracy
- Heat treated in our own facility to your specified condition
- Offered for prototype runs, trial lots, and ongoing OEM supply
- Thinner walls and fewer ribs are often possible, reducing weight per bracket
- No plating, painting, or coating step to inspect or maintain

Material and Heat Treatment
- Solution treated - uniform base structure before aging
- H900 - maximum strength and hardness for compact, heavily loaded parts
- H1025 - the usual choice for general structural brackets
- H1150 - greater toughness and better resistance to stress corrosion
- Condition is confirmed by hardness testing on every batch
Manufacturing Process
- Wax pattern formed from the bracket drawing
- Ceramic shell built and fired
- 17-4PH melted, checked, and poured
- Solution treatment and aging to the specified condition
- CNC finishing of holes, faces, and slots
- Passivation, inspection, and packing

Dimensional & Surface Requirements
- Hole diameter and position held to ±0.02–0.05mm after hardening
- Flatness and parallelism controlled on mounting faces
- Threads gauge checked to the print
- Edges deburred to avoid stress risers that shorten fatigue life
Where Brackets Are Used
- Powertrain and turbocharger mounts
- Exhaust system hangers and supports
- Chassis, suspension, and steering brackets
- Battery pack and electric drive mounts
- Sensor and camera supports
Customization
- Drawing - we review load paths and suggest wall thickness and rib changes
- Sample - worn or discontinued brackets reverse-engineered to CAD
- Material condition - H900, H1025, or H1150
- Finish - passivated, blasted, or polished

FAQ
|
Q1: |
Which heat treatment condition should I choose for an auto bracket? |
|
A1: |
H1025 suits most structural brackets. Choose H900 for maximum strength in compact, heavily loaded parts, or H1150 where toughness and stress-corrosion resistance matter more. Send your load case and we will recommend one. |
|
Q2: |
Is 17-4PH stronger than 304 or 316 stainless? |
|
A2: |
Yes. After aging, 17-4PH reaches several times the yield strength of 304 or 316, while offering comparable corrosion resistance in most under-vehicle conditions. |
|
Q3: |
Does 17-4PH need plating or coating? |
|
A3: |
Not for corrosion protection in typical automotive use. Passivation after machining is standard. |
